FAQ

How long will it take to complete the repairs?

At BNT Auto Service Centre, we aim to complete most repairs on the same day, depending on the nature of the issue and parts availability. Once we complete a full diagnostic, we’ll provide you with a clear estimate on both cost and repair time.

If the repairs will take longer than expected, we’ll do our best to help you secure a rental vehicle so you’re not left without transportation

How much will it cost?

To provide an accurate cost estimate, we first need to complete a full diagnostic to understand exactly what your vehicle needs. Once that’s done, we’ll walk you through the recommended repairs, explain the pricing in detail, and only move forward with your approval.

At BNT Auto Service Centre, we believe in transparent and honest pricing—no surprises, just clear communication and quality service.

My car is running rough. Do I need a tune-up?

If your car is running rough, it could be a sign that a tune-up is needed, but there may also be other underlying issues such as worn spark plugs, fuel system problems, or sensor malfunctions.

The best first step is to bring your vehicle in for a diagnostic check so we can pinpoint the exact cause. Once we know what’s going on, we’ll let you know if a tune-up will solve the problem or if something else needs attention.

Is there a charge to check out my car?

At BNT Auto Service Centre, some initial assessments and basic diagnostics are absolutely free. Once we have access to your vehicle, we’ll take a look and let you know if any deeper diagnostics are needed before moving forward.

We’re committed to clear, transparent communication, so you’ll always know what to expect—no surprises, and no work is done without your approval.

Do I need an appointment for a repair?

While we do recommend booking an appointment to ensure we can serve you promptly, we also understand that car trouble doesn’t always happen on a schedule. If you're dealing with an emergency or urgent issue, feel free to bring your vehicle in—we’ll do our very best to fit you in and get you back on the road as quickly as possible.

What are you methods of payment?

At BNT Auto Service Centre, we accept a variety of payment methods for your convenience, including:

  1. Credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, etc.)

  2. Debit cards

  3. Bank-to-bank transfers

  4. Cash

  5. Interac e-Transfer

Why does my car need maintenance if it's running fine?

Even if your car is running fine now, regular maintenance is key to keeping it that way. Think of it like going to the doctor for a check-up—catching small issues early can help prevent major (and more expensive) problems down the road.

Things like oil changes, fluid top-ups, brake inspections, and tire rotations help your vehicle run more efficiently, extend its lifespan, and keep you safe on the road.

At BNT Auto Service Centre, we’re here to help you stay ahead of issues—not chase them.

What will happen if I don't have the repairs done right now?

Delaying repairs can sometimes be okay for minor issues, but in many cases, putting off needed repairs can lead to bigger, more costly problems later on, or even compromise your safety on the road.

Once we assess your vehicle, we’ll let you know which repairs are urgent and which ones can wait, so you can make an informed decision. Our goal is always to be honest and transparent—no pressure, just clear guidance to help you protect your vehicle and your wallet.

What Should I Do When My Check Engine Lights Come On?

When your check engine light comes on, it’s important not to ignore it. The light could indicate a wide range of issues, from something minor like a loose gas cap to more serious engine problems. The first thing you should do is schedule a diagnostic with us as soon as possible so we can pinpoint the cause.

If the light is flashing or if you notice your car driving differently (rough idling, strange sounds, etc.), it’s best to stop driving and have your vehicle checked right away to avoid further damage.

At BNT Auto Service Centre, we’ll diagnose the issue and give you clear, honest advice on the next steps.

How Often Should I Have My Brakes Checked?

We recommend having your brakes checked at least once a year, or every 12,000 to 15,000 kilometers, whichever comes first. However, if you notice any signs of trouble—such as squeaking, grinding, or longer stopping distances—it’s a good idea to get them inspected sooner.

Regular brake checks ensure your vehicle stays safe and performs at its best. If you’d like to schedule a brake inspection, we’re here to help!

What Type of Oil Filter Do I Need?

The type of oil filter your vehicle needs depends on your make and model, as well as the specific oil you're using. Generally, oil filters come in standard, high-efficiency, and synthetic options—each designed to meet the needs of different engine types and driving conditions.

At BNT Auto Service Centre, we’ll make sure to choose the correct oil filter based on your vehicle’s specifications and ensure it’s compatible with the oil we recommend. If you're due for an oil change or filter replacement, feel free to stop by, and we’ll take care of everything!

Do I Really Need Winter Tires?

While winter tires aren’t legally required everywhere, they are highly recommended for safety during the colder months, especially in areas with snow, ice, or freezing temperatures. Winter tires are specifically designed to provide better traction, handling, and braking performance in cold, wet, or snowy conditions, which regular all-season tires can struggle with.

If you want to ensure the best driving safety and performance in winter conditions, we recommend switching to winter tires. If you need advice on the best tires for your vehicle or need help with the installation, we’re here to help!
